Our Carbon Footprint

                  

Here at Datec, we monitor our impact on the environment at every stage. In fact, we were one of the first companies in our sector to have a dedicated environmental department. In 2008, a new environmental team member was added, tasked with calculating our carbon footprint and finding ways to reduce it.

Closely monitoring our carbon footprint and utility usage from the inside has helped us to make significant reductions on our energy usage year-on-year for the past five years. We aim to continue this downwards trend long into the future.

Further to this, we have decreased the percentage of material we send to landfill each of the past five years, even though the amount of material entering our facilities has steadily increased. This has been achieved by successfully introducing ever-more efficient processing techniques and equipment.

 

We aim to reduce our carbon footprint each year. We intend to do this by streamlining processes, finding improved recycling routes for materials and also by introducing energy-efficient technology in all of our facilities.
