Data Erasure

It was once the case that the security of a company was limited to its building and the equipment contained within it. In the 21st century, the security of data is becoming of ever-increasing importance.
Most companies now have a duty of care under the Data Protection Act (UK) or similar regulations, legally requiring them to keep safe any data stored about customers, suppliers and employees. There have been several high-profile cases in the media where a great deal of embarassment has been caused as a result of personal information leaking into the public domain.
After consultation with our corporate clients, we learned that the number one concern for many of our clients is data secuirty. In order to help businesses meet the challenge of keeping confidential information safe, Datec Technologies have invested in the equipment required to implement a wide range of data destruction solutions.

In late 2009 we started using the Blancco system, which offers industry-leading data erasure and safe system re-use. This allows us to maximise profit for our customers (by remarketing computer systems) without compromising the security of any stored data (the system renders all data unrecoverable).
The Blancco system of data erasure allows Datec Technologies to provide services meeting or exceeding many international security standards, set by agencies such as:
- US Depratment of Defence
- US Army / Air Force / Navy
- National Security Testing Lab (NSTL)
- National Security Agency (NSA)
- National Computer Security Centre (NCSC)
- UK Ministry of Defense
- Communications Electronics Security Group (CESG)
- Defense InfoSec Product Co-Operation Group (DIPCOG)
- Norwegian National Security Authority (NSM)
- Polish International Security Authority (ABW)
- Netherlands National Communication Security Agency (NLNCSA)
- TUV
- BSI
- German Standard VSITR
